Mac App Store Opening January 6th

We now have an official Apple press release that the Mac App Store will be opening on January 6th. This is official... not one of the rumored opening dates that have been spreading around the internet. This puts the Mac App Store about two weeks ahead of it's initially projected launch date.

"The App Store revolutionized mobile apps," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We hope to do the same for PC apps with the Mac App Store by making finding and buying PC apps easy and fun. We can't wait to get started on January 6."
