‘TurboWeb’ Removed from Mac App Store [Updated]
It appears that previously reviewed app TurboWeb is no longer available on the Mac App Store. TurboWeb was a free app that provided a bare bones but lightning fast web browser. One discussion post on Reddit notes that artwork used in the development of the app was from another product named Tornado and used without permission. Could Apple have caught on or received a complaint and pulled it from the Mac App Store?
A message has been sent to TurboWeb's developer and we are awaiting their response.
Update: Just got a status update from the app's developer. It turns out that the app was not removed by Apple. After the controversy appeared regarding the use of images the app was voluntarily removed by the developer. A new version is due to appear in the app store in a few days with new images and updated features. The developer is sending Mac App Store Review a sneak peek of the app which will be reviewed shortly.
