Any Star Trek fan (myself included) will love this free download from the Mac App Store. The app's name is simple and describes exactly what it's for... Time.

Time gives you the functionality of an alarm clock, countdown timer, stopwatch, and prominent clock display in an interface that is identical to those seen on the computer displays through the Star Trek series. The sounds for the interface and alarms are taken straight out of the shows and movies. You can even choose to display the current date using our standard Gregorian calendar (for those still stuck in the 21st century), or have it displayed as a Stardate.

The app itself is designed to run as a full screen app that will let you glance across the room and easily read the time. The brightness can be reduced to fit the lighting of the room, and full screen mode can be disabled as desired.

If you are a die hard Star Trek fan, I recommend downloading this app, even if you never plan on using it as an alarm clock and timer. Playing with the interface and hearing the sounds is well worth the free download.
