Apple officially asked for developers to begin submitting their apps for Mac OSX Lion today. Apple has been known to begin accepting apps for newly released marketplaces a week or two ahead of public release. Apps submitted are for use on Apple’s upcoming Lion operating system, suggesting that its launch is still in line for a late July release.
Developers wishing to be part of the opening day sales should submit their apps ASAP. Reviews for apps are on a first come, first serve basis. Waiting too long may cause developers.
One of Lion’s central features is a heavier reliance on the Mac App Store. Mac OSX Lion will be solely distributed as a download through the Mac App Store.
